What is the turn-around time on a pump?Approximately 2-3 weeks
-
Can I get my exact pump returned to me?Yes but it extends the turn-around time. There is also an additional charge.
-
For race engines, should the pump be re-examined during tear downs? It would be advisable ESPECIALLY if the teardown is for a failure and not a routine service. Re-inspection of pumps being used in race engines is routine for us. The service charge for this is minimal, depending on model
-
What about a bypass kit?Always replace the oil bypass kit when rebuilding an engine. There are parts that are wear items – and should be replaced.
-
Is it normal for the pump to be stiff when rebuilt?Yes, a combination of the friction reducing coating and the preservative often cause a stiff spot. This in no way affects the performance once the engine is started.
-
What types of payments are accepted? We accept: VISA, Mastercard, Discovery, AmEx, and Paypal. Wire transfers and Zelle are also available. Please contact us for any other payment options
-
Do you sell pump components? No. At this time our components on hand are for the business inventory only.
-
Can I just get it rebuilt without porting & polishing?NO. Porting & polishing are part of our rebuilding service. These services are done automatically one the units begin the service process.
-
Can I get my original pump back?Yes. However there is a provenance charge that will be applied.
-
How can I keep the patina on my original pump? Please contact us for any individual requests or needs on a specialty pump. There will be a provenance charge that is applicable for these special requests.
-
What improvement can I expect?Tests consistently showed flow increases above 20%. With a cold engine it is common to see the oil pressure above the bypass valve value at IDLE (60-80 lbs). With the engine at operating temperature, the oil pressure will typically be above the bypass valve value on a 4000 RPMs. Of course, clearances inside of the engine affect the oil pressure as well as piston cooling jets, 3.2 liter chain tensioners, etc.
-
Can I just install a 964 pump or a Turbo pump as opposed to using a ported and polished pump.Yes, and there is a machining procedure to accommodate the different pump. There is however a caveat to installing an over-sized pump in a different generation engine case/system. Download and read our discussion on the subject.
-
How long will the performance of the pump continue? The performance of the pump should remain at the higher level throughout the service life of the engine.
-
What is the warranty? As with all race/performance components, warranty is limited to the failed portion of the pump or the pump entirely. No other warranty is implied or expressed.
-
How often are core charges applied?Rarely. Most certainly they are applied if the corrosion is excessive from submersion in water or the engine has had a rod bearing failure and the connecting rod has struck the top of the pump.
-
Suppose the pump is partially damaged.Upon inspection of your core and we discover a portion is damaged beyond repair, we will stop and notify you to discuss options.
-
Is a core required?YES. Our service is based on a core-exchange basis. (Please contact us for any special requests)
